Subscription and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: October 2026
1. About this policy
This policy explains the Scotland's Markets membership: what the plans cost, how the free trial works, how a subscription starts, how to cancel it, and what happens to your access afterwards. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions.
2. Plans and prices
- Trader membership — £2.99 per month, or £29.99 per year.
- Organiser membership — £19.99 per month.
- These amounts are the total payable. Scotland's Markets is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added.
- Browsing markets, searching, and managing bookings you already hold stay free of charge. Scotland's Markets takes no commission on stall bookings, and pitch payments always go directly to the market organiser.
3. Your 30-day free trial
- Every new member starts with a 30-day free trial of the full membership features for their account type.
- The trial is granted inside the app. We do not ask for card or payment details to start it.
- Because no payment details are held, no payment of any kind is taken during the trial.
- The trial does not renew on its own, and it never turns into a paid subscription by itself.
4. When a subscription starts
- A paid subscription begins only when you choose a plan and pay for it yourself, either monthly or yearly.
- We never charge you automatically when a trial ends: nothing happens at the end of the trial except that new applications pause until you choose a plan.
- Payments are taken in advance for the period you select, by card, through our payment provider.
5. Cancelling your membership
- You can cancel at any time from the Membership page in your account. There is no notice period and no cancellation fee.
- Cancelling stops the next payment. Your membership stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and no further payment is taken after that.
- You can also manage your billing, payment details and cancellation through the billing portal linked on the Membership page.
6. What happens after a membership ends
- Your account stays open, and you keep free access to browsing markets across Scotland.
- Applications, bookings, pitches, payments, receipts and messages you already have stay exactly as they are, and you can keep managing and settling them.
- Only starting new stall applications pauses until you choose a membership again. No market listing and no existing booking is removed.
7. If a payment fails
If a payment does not go through, we will ask you to update your payment details. Starting new stall applications pauses until the payment is sorted out, and everything else in your account keeps working as normal.
8. Refunds
- Nothing is charged during the free trial, so there is nothing to refund if you decide not to continue.
- If you are charged in error, or a payment is taken after you cancelled, contact us and we will refund it.
- Membership fees are for the period you selected. We do not refund part of a period you have already used, other than where a refund is required by law.
9. Price changes
If we change the price of a plan, the change applies from your next billing period, and we will tell you before it takes effect. You can cancel at any time if you do not wish to continue at the new price.
10. Memberships are not on sale yet
Memberships are not currently on sale and no trial has been started for any account. While they are switched off, every feature is free and no charge of any kind applies. The prices, trial and cancellation terms above apply from the date memberships go on sale on the Platform.
11. Contact us
If you have any questions about a membership payment or cancellation, or you think you have been charged in error, please contact us through the contact form and we will reply by email.
