Delete your account
Anyone with a Scotland's Markets account — trader or organiser — can delete it at any time, from inside the app or by requesting it from us. This page explains both routes and exactly what happens to your information.
Delete your account in the app
- 1Sign in to your account.
- 2Open Trader Profile or Organiser Profile from the menu.
- 3In the Account & data card, choose Delete my account.
- 4Read what happens, type DELETE to confirm, and press Delete my account permanently.
Your account is deleted immediately. You will be signed out and cannot sign back in with it.
If you cannot sign in
Send us a message through our contact form with "Account deletion request" as the subject, and tell us the email address or phone number on the account. We will verify the request, delete the account, and confirm back to you. We respond to requests within one month.
What is deleted and what is kept
Deleted with your account
- Your profile, business details, photos and social links
- Your name, email address and phone number on your account
- The links to any documents you uploaded
- You in public listings such as Shop With Us
- Your notifications and saved message templates
Kept, with your personal details removed
- Booking records — market, date, stall size, status and amounts, with your name and contact details replaced by an anonymous marker
- Payment and invoice records, kept for accounting and tax purposes
- The business name on bookings that were invoiced, so organisers' accounts reconcile
- Conversations you had with organisers, with your name removed from them
- The fact that an account was deleted, so we can show we handled your request
If you organise markets
Your markets, market dates and pitches stay in place and stay visible to traders, and other traders' bookings are not affected. The contact details published for each market stay on the market listing so traders can still reach the market about their booking. Your personal profile as an account holder is removed. If you would rather your markets were taken down as well, tell us when you request deletion and we will remove the listings, keeping only the booking and payment records we must retain.
Before you delete
- • If you have upcoming bookings, cancel them in My Bookings first, or tell the organiser, because they will not be able to contact you once your details are removed.
- • Any outstanding payment or refund should be settled before you delete, as we cannot issue refunds to a deleted account.
- • Deleting an account cannot be undone. You are welcome to create a new one later, but you will need to add your details again.
For the full detail of what we collect, how long we keep it and your rights, see our Privacy Policy. If you have any other question about your data, use the contact form.
